Beauty World Oil-In-Cuticle Pen Review

Hello all!

So here I am sitting at the dining table with my laptop while le boyfriend and le sis-in-law have a chat about me. XD Thought I would blog a while.

Getting back to my Japan Nail Polish Haul - this is the first product that I used - the

Beauty World Oil-In-Cuticle Pen

I actually tried it out at the store but I think the sample was already dried out from the cap being missing and all. I bought it anyway since I didn't have a proper cuticle softener..I just trim them after pushing them.

As per the name, you just have to use it normally as you were to clean your cuticle and the oil will flow out enough to smoothen the movement. My review? I love it! All I have to do is push my cuticles back then move them in a circular motion under the cuticle to remove all the dead skin. After that, just trim the cuticle as per usual.

My cuticles are in love with it and so am I. This is the first thing I reach for when I need to clean up my cuticles. Friends in Japan, expect me to ask some favours soon! =P

That's it for this post!
Cheers!

Mini Spree

Hey Nail Art Lovers!!
I know I have yet to review and post up the polishes
from my other nail polish sprees but I just can't help it!! ><
So I found this small nail art booth in Pavilion the other day
and I just couldn't stay away from the nail art goodness XD

Chain, rhinestones, blue nail art strip tape, 2 nail wheels

I finally found some nail wheels and I'm so excited!! I also got a chain to use during dinner occasions since there are rhinestones stuck to it...and of course I got some rhinestones too!! XD The main thing in this spree is the blue nail strip tape! I've been wanting to get a silver tape for quite a while now but when I bought this one the blue and silver tape were really similar and didn't know that I bought the wrong colour till I used it ><

I did a quick mani just to use it!

Forgive the sloppiness since I did them when I was half asleep ><
I couldn't really get the tape to stick so the ends always stuck out =S
I did some "aztec" writing on the white parts with a silver dotting pen but you can't really c them in the photo cause of the sunlight =S

There'll be more opportunities to do aztec manis to don't fret!
That's all for today!
Cheers!

Nail Biters Corner #03

Ello All!!
So this is the THIRD 'Nail Biters Corner' post!!
^^

I don't know if this applies to all nail biters but since I started biting my nails from a young age... my nails are uber thin now...
probably cause it didn't really get to grow properly for a long time.
Some nail bloggers encourage filing the whole nail to remove dirt and leftover polish and natural oils rite but I don't do that...
not that I DON'T...I actually CAN'T file my nails...

The last time I filed my nail was when I got caught by this guy in a shopping mall trying to sell his homemade cuticle oil...he also wanted to sell me this mani pedi set so he just grabbed my hand and started filing my nail...=.=...WORST MISTAKE EVER!! A week later that nail he filed... BROKE!! really deep at that...all the non-filed nails were fine...
that's how thin my nails are! ><

This was taken with my phone so please excuse the bad quality ><
It broke really deep in a you can see...='(

I haven't found anything to make my nails thicker and I'm not sure there is such a thing but I found the second best thing!

OPI Nail Envy!
I heard of Nail Envy from a friend when I started doing nail art and at the time my nails were not only thin but peeling too >< My thumbs were always the worst! It would peel from the corners and get snagged on every little thing!!

When I finally decided to get nail envy I honestly had to think really hard since I didn't know there were more than ONE type of nail envy till I checked the website...=S

The first nail envy I got was Maintenance Nail Envy.
I chose this type because it was the latest one at the time and the description held some promise but it didn't really work out for me...=(
Of course I used up the whole bottle before getting a new one...
waste not want not ya know!

The next nail envy I got was Matte Nail Envy!
The time that I ordered that type I still had a lot of hope for Maintenance Nail Envy and wanted my dad to use it and since it would be matte he wouldn't mind it so much but he didn't try it in the end. Matte Nail Envy had the same formula as Original Nail Envy with the only different that it dried matte...
well...not really XD

My third and current nail envy is Soft & Thin Nail Envy!
I just love this polish! Not only are my nails stronger now but they stopped peeling! My thumb nails are especially thankful! I guess you have to get the nail envy that's suited for your current nail situation! ^^

But...for an ex-nail biter when one problem is solved
there is yet another problem to face..
I'll get to that in the next post of 'Nail Biters Corner'!
>.^

Cheers!

Burt's Bees Cuticle Balm Review

Hey All!
I've a review for you guys this time!
Remember how I always say that I need cuticle oil really badly?
WELL I FINALLY GOT ONE!

I surveyed a lot of cuticle oils and balms...and I mean
A LOT!!

I tried L'occitane, Body Shop, Evelyn&Crabtree
and let's not forget the Mavala cuticle oil!
All of them were either too oily, too smelly or BOTH!
Then...I finally found THE ONE...

BURT'S BEES CUTICLE BALM

This cuticle balm smells like lemons because it is
LEMON BUTTER CUTICLE CREAM!
It is also not as oily as the other balms =)

HERE ARE THE EFFECTS!

 A CLOSER LOOK!

It looks so much better right?! ^^

My opinion?
GREAT!
Definitely recommend it! ^^
To my knowledge it is around RM37 and S$12!

That's all for now!

Cheers!

Mavala Nail Polish Remover Review

A good nail polish remover is a nailpolishaholic's best friend!
My friend recommended this brand to me a couple of years ago
and I've been using it ever since! XD

Introducing...
MAVALA NAIL POLISH REMOVER!!

There are 2 types of Mavala Nail Polish...
The pink bottle is without acetone while the other is with acetone!
Obviously I like the blue one better since it removes the nail polish more easily!
^^

I would rate this nail polish remover...
9/10!
The minus 1 is because it doesn't really remove glitter that well but
not many removers can...when I find that one that CAN then I'll rate it
10/10!

Actually I ran out of mavala a while ago and when I went to restock...
The horror started! D8
All the stores that I went to were OUT OF STOCK! =(

In the end, I got a couple of bottles during my Singapore trip! XD
It was slightly more expensive but so worth it!

Phewww! Look out for the next review! ^^

Cheers!

MAVALA Cuticle Cream

As you know, I have been having dry cuticle issues ><"
All the good cuticle creams are really expensive...
I was about to buy Sally Hansen's cuticle oil then I saw
MAVALA's cuticle cream!
MAVALA's acetone nail polish remover is really good so
I thought I'd give the cuticle cream a try =)

So this is how it looks like...small...but who'd use so much cuticle cream!

When I saw 'CREAM'...I was expecting something white and creamy like hand cream
but inside is actually a yellowish ointment looking substance...
I guess it's called cream because it's too thick to be considered as oil...
It feels uber oily fyi...=.=...it smells bad too T___T
I can't stand putting my hands near my face now since it smells bad TT____TT

It's had it's desired effects so far...

If you compare it to the photo BEFORE I applied the cuticle cream...

You can still see the dry parts...=(

I'll have a follow up post soon to share the usefulness of the cuticle cream...
but I wouldn't buy it again just because of the awful smell it has...=(

Cheers!
