Stamping Wonders

Hey guys! 

I thought I would share some of my latest manis with you just in case you don't follow me on my instagram @chronosz. =)

I did this mani with no particular design in mind...I just wanted my current fav Canmake polish and some sort of design. So, I flipped through my stamping plates for a nice design and decided on one from BM-404. I used reverse stamping to get the pattern on. 

Polishes used :

Base coat - Essence Ultra Strong Nail Hardener 
Green - Canmake 406C
Gold Glitter - OPI Don't Speak 18k Gold Top Coat 
Stamping Polish - Laval Black
Top Coat - Glisten & Glow HK Girl 

This is my current NOTD but not for long!! I'm going for something girly next! 

As you can tell, I've been doing some stamping here and there. This mani is a double stamped butterfly design also using a Bundle Monster plate. 

Colours Used : 
Base Coat - Essie Nail Hardener Top Coat 
Blue Texture Polish - Miss Ashleigh See You In Santorini
White stamping polish - Mundodeunas white
Purple polish - Color Club Ms. Socialite 
Top Coat - Glisten & Glow HK Girl
Bundle Moster Stamping Plate BM-307

I wasn't really feeling this mani...but others did so that's good enough for me! Look forward to more swatches!

羊年快乐! Happy Chinese New Year!

Hi Everyone!

Happy Chinese New Year! (although it's already the 8th day of new year) =P

I'll be flying off to Japan tomorrow for a 2 week holiday and I am super duper excited but leaving tomorrow means I won't be with the fam for chap goh meh (15th and last day of new year). Darn you cheap flight tickets! Sad as I may be for missing 5 days of new year at home, I'll have that much and more fun in Japan especially since we've been planning it for a year!

Anyways! Here's my mani on the 1st and 3rd day of CNY! I wanted to get a gel base mani but it just didn't work out especially with the pricing...

I decided to go with a mani inspired by @svetasanders on instagram which features gold nail polish and coincidentally or NOT i purchased the OPI Gwen Stephani 18k No Doubt Gold polish! The gradient didn't really work for me though =P

Colours Used: 

Red - OPI Big Apple Red
White - OPI Alpine Snow
Gold - OPI No Doubt 18k Gold
Top Coat - Glisten & Glow HK Girl
Base Coat - Essie Nail Hardener

For the 3rd day, I went with one that I experimented with before. I actually wanted to double stamp it but red just didn't mix well so I left it with white and gold bamboo in the end. 

Colours Used:

White - OPI Alpine Snow
Gold - China Glaze Passion
Top Coat - Glisten & Glow HK Girl
Base Coat - Essie Nail Hardener
Stamped with MoYou London Suki Plate

I'll be posting my Japan mani when I reach Japan hopefully! Can't wait to share it with you guys since it'll be my last CNY mani for the year!

#Nailartsep 16 - Fav. Flower

Hello all!

Today is Malaysia Day and I'm a Malaysian NOT in Malaysia...

Oh well!

So for @californails #nailartsep Day 16, the theme is my favorite flower. 

And what is my favorite flower?

It is...

A SUNFLOWER!

This................ISN'T 

my favorite mani and I have to say that I am so sad for my favorite flower for painting it so badly...=(

I used China Glaze Happy-Go-Lucky for the flowers with was sunny enough but it was really hard to tell where the petals ended. So, I used China Glaze Solar Power which is a darker gold shimmer polish to outline the petals which did not work so well. =(

It became worse when I added the gold stud...

I outlined the petals with black polish this the morning after just to see if this would look better. 

I could only do one nail since I had to rush for class. 

I do think that it looks so much better after the black outline was added.

I think the yellow only petals would work with acrylic which I wish I have but don't. ><

I guess that's it for this post!

#Nailartsep 04 - Gold & Teal

Hey nail art lovers!

Sorry this is a few days late but I swear I did it on the right day! 

^^

So as I've said in my previous post, I am currently attempting @californails Nail Art September Challenge on Instagram!

So for the 4th the month, the theme is Gold & Teal.

Frankly speaking, I had no idea what colour Teal is...and I don't I will be able to differentiate Teal from the green colours ><

Anyway, this is what I ended up with!

With my personality, if you said pink & green only then I would only used those colours which gives me a hell of a headache when coming up with designs. 

Which includes other aspects in life with similar situations.

However, I have learnt that it is not necessary to only use these two colours, as long as the main point of the design is of the two colours. 

So, breaking out of my insecurities little by little I used black and white polishes as well as gold and teal in the mani. 

Although, some people do not consider black and white colours.

I hope those with the same problem as I are able to improve.

X'Mas '12 - Prezzies

Hey nail art lovers! ^^

Are you all done with your Christmas shopping yet?

I bet you aren't!! =P

Do you wrap your presents in bright green wrapping paper and tie it with a bright red ribbon? Maybe some of you do and some of you don't. 

Christmas colours are definitely red and green to me. 

Classic never gets old. How ironic.

Somehow...these days...I've been thinking of doing manis for other people but so far I've only done manis for friends and family. The main reason I don't what to do it to strangers is because I usually take a long time to paint depending on the design. Wouldn't it be so embarrassing to make your customer sit for like 4 hours straight while I paint her nails? Doing my own nails is one thing since I actually enjoy it but sitting down and doing nothing is just frustrating ><

Instagram inspired

Helllllooooooooooo!!!

You should all know by now that I instagram a lot =P

There are so many awesome nail artists on insta and is a great way of getting inspiration for new mani ideas. So here's a mani I did referring to a tutorial on insta by this girl @simplenailartdesigns.

I am currently obsessed with effects so please excuse the effects and just stare at the mani XD

Here's another cliche from the Blast from the Past post!

I know I have no sense of colour coordination but I think maroon goes great with gold! Don't you?

This is a pretty simple mani to do but you have to be careful since the lines gotta be straight to be nice. I suggest a good stripping brush for this mani!

Ok! So this mani is like EVERYWHERE!! 

So what did I do?

I TRIED IT OUT!! 

like DUUUUHHHHHHHHH XD

Sorry about the smudging but the top coat did that =S

I was pretty satisfied about it...

For me rite...I used pastels colours along with one chrome polish.

I see this combo a lot with stained glass nails =)

Oh yeah! I did a small tutorial for it too! ^^

Don't think it helps tho =P

Blast into the past

Long time no see everyone!! 

I'm sorry I haven't been posting much >< 

I've been busy with classes and stuff and kinda lazy too...

I'm currently in Melbourne now doing the final year of my degree! ^^

I've checked my list and I've got like 10+ manis to post up D8

So here's from where I left off! 

I did this mani at the end of June. 

OK! So I got the inspiration for this from a book!

You know those really old leather cover books with the gold fonts?!

I found it so pretty that I just had to paint it =)

Took pics of it with one of my necklaces...looks good yeah XD

Well! Here's to my come back post!! 

Shall watermark the rest of the pics so that I won't have an excuse not to post anymore! XD

IU You & I MV inspired mani

I've been putting this mani off till I got my gold chrome polish and it arrived a while ago! XD

I painted this a while ago TOO!! =P

It didn't come out the way I wanted too...probably cause I didn't experiment with the polish long enough...sighhhh...oh well!!

My favorite nail would be the pointing finger thus the solo photo on instagram! XD

I tried to write 'tick tock' on the ring finger but black didn't match and so....

basically it didn't work out =S

The other design is meant to be cogs from the clockwork!

I really love the video!! 

Especially the lyrics!!!

Chrome Clouds

Yo nail art peeps!

 After my recent nail polish spree I am really into chrome polish XD

Then there's this new craze with cloud manis...

So I decided to try it out! 

Sorry about the red in the photos...it's probably from the sun...

It was really REALLY bright and sunny when I took them =P

Nail Polish Spree 05 + Swatches

China Glaze Passion, OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air

This time I ordered China Glaze Passion and OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air!

I shall make this an uber long post since I haven't written a long one in a while ^^

Here we go! 

First off is China Glaze Passion! XD

Passion is a dusty gold chrome polish. I've been hunting for a gold chrome polish for a while now and this is the one I chose after reading countless reviews and seen so many swatches!

As all chrome polishes, this polish also streaks so remember to get it all on with minimal swipes of the brush...2 layers would be best for this polish cause as you can see from my ring finger in the close up photo...there's a bald spot in the middle ><"

This is China Glaze Passion Matte! ^^
I seriously LOVE matte chrome polish! Not sure if you can tell from the photo but there's less shine and it has this real gold feeling to it XD
I wish I had taken a more close up photo of it ><


Enough with the chrome polish!
Let's get on to the glitter!
Presenting...OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air!! XD

Have I mentioned that I'm quite into glitter now? Well I AM!! XD
OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air is from the Muppets collection! ^^
I've never had a green glitter polish and this caught my eye!
This polish is a combi of small tiny green glitter bits and hexagonal silver flakies!
I actually went backwards and did the review before the nail polish spree post ><
It was more to a glitter post than a review though..=P

Taped Retro Twist

Hey guys!! XD

In my last post I told you guys that I was gonna post up my current mani rite!!

So here they are!!!! XD

Remember the Topshop polishes I got from my Singapore trip in January?

I used those 3 polishes for this mani!! ^^

I've seen this mani quite a few times online so I thought I would try it! 

Instead of using cellotape I used the blue stripping tape that I got a while back!

It works so much better than the cellotape XD 

After I added the rhinestones I thought, "Hmmm this so reminds me of a jesters hat! XD"

Bwahahahhaha 

Yeah! Yeah! That jester!! XD

The rhinestones became the bells for the hat =P

I'm quite happy with this mani! ^^

I learnt a new way to do tape manis and I got to use polishes I rarely use too!

The Simple Little Things 01

Hi Everyone! 

You know a lot of people say that 

the simple little things are what affects you the most...

Well...whoever they are...

They were right 

=)

My friend Xin Yi went on holiday with her family a couple of months ago and she got me and Jade nail polish!! ^^ The fact that she actually thought of us while she was on vacation is just sweet! =)

She got me Color Combos CBL146 & CTW504!!

So...CBL146 is the pink creme polish! I don't know how to comment on the colour but to me it's a soft pink colour...it would definitely look great on short nails not that I think that it doesn't look nice on longer nails! =P 

CTW504 on the other hand is a clear polish that has a mixture 

of gold tiny round flakies and random chunky flakies! ^^ 

Great polish for layering and for dinner occasion manis! ^^

If you read the title of the post, you would have already noticed that this is only the first 'The Simple Little Things' post and that's because Xin Yi is not the only one that's done this and made me feel appreciated and I think they all deserve their own post! Don't you think so?

GLEE Inspired

Hey GLEE lovers!!
So...I recently watched GLEE!! 

It was the BEST episode so far!!

It was all about not giving in to bullying and peer pressure and suicide is never the answer to ones problem! The song!! Super inspirational!! 

So this mani is inspired by their regional outfits! =)

GLEE to me is a very inspirational show that combines the happenings of high school, society and music! =) I have cried, laughed and shown so many different kinds of expressions while watching GLEE and I can say that I DO relate to the characters in GLEE! =)

in a very good way!

Wedding not wedding inspired

This was the door gift at my cousin's wedding =)

I put off doing this design for a month+ LOL 

I mixed a shimmer and glitter polish get that colour 

but I think it would have been nicer with gold khrome polish =S 

now you know why I want China Glaze 2030

I really love rhinestones right now!! ><

Anyone know where to buy or order studs from in Malaysia??
