3D Dots

Hello all!

Wonder when the last time blogged was? I thought I would mix it up a bit and put everything on the left! XD 

Anywayz, I saw this cool mani on @slacquerr on instagram and tried it out for myself! 

She called them 3D Dots so I shall just go with it! XD 

It looks nice yeah? Feel like experimenting with it a little.

Hopefully it turns out well! ^^

If any of you want to paint this, it's really simple!

1. Paint a base colour of your choice.

2. Use your dotting tool to make blacks dots.

3. Use the same size dotting tool to dot white onto the black dots at an angle, leaving a little of the black dot visible. (This creates a 3D effect)

4. Finally, top it off with a top coat of your choosing! (I like Seche Vite FYI) 

And that's how you do it! 

Hope you guys will have fun with this mani as I did!

A not so white mani for the White Night!

Hey guys!

Apparently yesterday, February 23, 2013 was Melbourne's first Nuit Blanche a.k.a White Night!! 

I totally did not know it existed and probably wouldn't have known that it was going on if I didn't have plans to yum cha with my friend. 

Melbourne CBD is CROWDED!!!

and I mean 

CROWDED!!!!

I have never seen so many people in the city before! 

It felt like the Connaught Pasar Malam cause it was so packed.

=P

I thought I would try the Burberry design!
It turned out really messy in the end ><

Darn it!

Hokkaido cake - Delicious & Inspiring

Yoo hoo!!!!

I've taken a couple of days break and we're already in July!!

Well...no matter what month it is, 

there will always be nail art =P

Ya know...there's been this hokkaido cake frenzy going on in pastry shops all over and I finally got to taste it thanks to my boyfriend's mum! ^^ 

I've tried Hokkaido cake before and it is super delicious and really luxurious so eating too much at a time would make you not want it for the next year! =P

This cake is basically the Hokkaido cake with cream in the middle! It's super yummy and super expensive sad to say =(...I tasted mine from RT Pastry. The packaging is a bit different from the photo above since I took it off the internet ><

ON TO THE MANI!! XD

The line didn't really come out well since I had just broken my nail so all my nails on my right hand were short...in the end I had to paint it on my right hand T_T

Still came out pretty good if I do say so myself XP

There's more coming especially since I'm on winter break now!

I'm gonna be flying off to Australia to further my studies soon...

I hope I can bring my collection over since it's not that big =)

Something Springy

Hey peeps! 

Been lazy again hence the late postings XD

So this is something I threw on since I was super uninspired...

It came out pretty good if I do say so myself XD 

I took the third pic with my instagram! XD 

Quite into the app at the moment so follow me if you want to!

Anywayz...I really wanted to do a sponge mani so I picked some random colours and stamped them on my nails XD After stamping my thumb I thought of putting rhinestones or pearls on them till I saw the dried flowers...I bought them a long time ago but didn't get the chance to use them till now! So glad I did since it came out so pretty! ^^ It looks like spring to me hence the title! =P 

I've got a couple more manis to share with you guys so...

look forward to them yeah! 

I'm on my mid-term break so I get to paint my nails more! XD

Happy Belated Easter!!!

Hey everyone!! 

I've been really MIA for a long long time! ><
I've been really busy with assignments and work 
so I haven't had time to paint my nails let alone blog ><
So since I finally got a break and it was Easter...


HOW BOUT SOME EASTER INSPIRED CUPCAKE NAILS!!!

I kinda took all the 'what I think are' Easter colours and turned them into cupcakes XD


I'm really into Instagram and Iphone photo editting tools now so I made a something of a tutorial!! Hope you like it =)

I don't know how to number the photos but it's left to right and top to bottom!! XD 
I kinda forgot to take pics after the 3 step so that's why there are only 4! =P

Well, this is what's new and you can tell my nails are ridiculously short now...
Sighhhh hate it when my nails break >< 
Please grow faster!!! =3

The Simple Little Things 01

Hi Everyone! 

You know a lot of people say that 

the simple little things are what affects you the most...

Well...whoever they are...

They were right 

=)

My friend Xin Yi went on holiday with her family a couple of months ago and she got me and Jade nail polish!! ^^ The fact that she actually thought of us while she was on vacation is just sweet! =)

She got me Color Combos CBL146 & CTW504!!

So...CBL146 is the pink creme polish! I don't know how to comment on the colour but to me it's a soft pink colour...it would definitely look great on short nails not that I think that it doesn't look nice on longer nails! =P 

CTW504 on the other hand is a clear polish that has a mixture 

of gold tiny round flakies and random chunky flakies! ^^ 

Great polish for layering and for dinner occasion manis! ^^

That's it for this post but wait!! 

If you read the title of the post, you would have already noticed that this is only the first 'The Simple Little Things' post and that's because Xin Yi is not the only one that's done this and made me feel appreciated and I think they all deserve their own post! Don't you think so?

Dye It Right

Hey All!! 

Sorry I haven't been updating and all but I had a lot to do and I was recently in a traffic accident so...do forgive me ><


So! I did this mani a while ago...probably a week ago =P

So this is my left hand...I used Color Combo's CBL104 a.k.a. white polish as the base and stamped 4 different colours on top! ^^ It kinda looked like a 'dyed T-shirt'...ya know...the ones where you take a plain white T and dip it in cloth dye to form a pattern on the shirt XD Hence the title! =P

This is obviously my right hand...I didn't want to do the same colour and pattern so opted for green and yellow stripes...in a way =P


This actually all started because I wanted to try out this stamping technique this korean nail blogger uses...again...i lost the link to her blog cause my lappie crashed on me...AGAIN!!! sighhh i'll TRY to remember to save the link the next time I find it....sighhhhh
anyway...so she uses a 'i think' NOT cosmetic sponge cause you can see the texture in her photo tutorials and it soooo does not look the same as mine ><


I usually use cosmetic sponges and it sometimes peels off when it's too wet and the texture changes thus changing the pattern of the polish when I stamp it on my nails >< So...what I did was went out and looked for a relatively HARD sponge and I found one! I really wanted to try it out!!

Messy eh...well...nothing a little cleaning can' fix XD

Singapore

Hey everyone!!! I'm finally back to posting after my Singapore shopping trip! 

I got some polishes from Singapore and shall be doing the swatches SOON!

Other than that...MY NAIL POLISH ORDER ARRIVED!! ^^

That means I have MORE colours to swatch for you guys 

and MORE designs to try out! 

There is also the fact that Chinese New Year is coming up!!

I've already got a few designs I'm planning on doing for the occasion!! XD

Anywayzzz...I didn't want to go to Singapore with bare nails so I painted something I THOUGHT would last me the week...

it didn't even last 2 days in the end cause of my itchy fingers...=(

Decided to do a blue gradient! =)

Gradients usually last a long while because 

of the glitter unless you do it without glitter XD

I've done a red gradient before...

There it is! XD 

Nails were shorter then! 

Turned out pretty nice especially since I had the shades to do it! XD

X'Mas Mani 08 - A Christmas Carol

In my previous post, I mentioned that I had already painted 

'Dickens Christmas Carol' themed nails.

HERE THEY ARE! ^^

I got the inspiration from the 2009 Disney's A Christmas Carol starring Jim Carrey!

I think the Ghost of Christmas Future is wrong though..=(

Looks more like Assassin Creed to me ><

I tried my best. Nothing else to be done. =)

X'Mas Mani 03 - Hot X'Tree

I got invites to Hot Magazine's Christmas party held at Porto Romano!

As you can see from my previous posts that I like to paint my nails according to the event so....

Christmas Tree!!! 

with a side of ornaments and candy canes =D

I got the idea from the poster!

The tree was so cute I couldn't resist!! 

Well this also counts as one of the 12 Days of X'Mas Manis! 

Crossing it off the list!

SASA

Sasa is another cosmetics brand.

I love going to Sasa! The brands they sell are quite good!

They also have their own brand which is Sasatine.

Sasatine Q22 - 3 coats

This is a kind of jelly polish I would say cause I wouldn't consider it as a sheer polish.

It took me 3 coats to get the same shade of blue as the bottle!

I love the colour and another thing I like about it is that it doesn't stain!

I have another dark blue polish from etude house and it is opaque in 1 coat.

BUT it stains my nails so badly! =(

With this in my collection now I'll be able to do navy themed nail art! XD

Color Combos CBL101 - 3 coats

Unlike Q22, this a sheer polish but is opaque in 2 coats.

I bought this because it's a sky blue colour and frankly...

I just wanted to try out the brand! =)

Quite nice I must say! Although painting so many coats annoys me

since it would take some time to dry before I can draw anything on it...

Sally Hansen Green with Envy - 2 coats

Sally Hansen polishes usually is really thick and so is this polish.

The reason why I put on 2 coats is because it was uneven with 1 coat.

It looks absolutely fabulous though! KIWI GREEN!

Perfect shade for kiwi nails!

OK So I've got work tomorrow so I decided to do school themed nails!

Left Hand

Black - OPI I Only Date Werewolves

I saw this design in tumblr a few times and I've always wanted to try it out so I finally have a reason to! XD 

Right Hand

Colours Used:

Base - OPI Alpine Snow

Blue stripes - Color Combos CBL101

Red - Elianto Chili Red

Blue Splats - Sasatine Q22

I was kinda lazy to do my right hand so I just opted for ink splats!

The nails on my right hand broke so please forgive the uneven nails...

I'm really bad at taking photos with my left hand too so please forgive the quality of the photo too! ><

Well...I can check this off the To-Do List! XD

So....I've been on a rather CRAZY wonderful

nail polish spree! =D

This was my spree of the day!

From left: 2 Faceshop polishes, 1 Color Combos polish, 

1 Sasatine Blue polish, Sally Hansen Green with Envy,

& one of my favs...Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat
