Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! 

Or in my case, Happy Lantern/Mooncake Festival! =)

In conjunction with the event, here's a lantern mani using Moyou London's Zodiac plate!!!

I actually wanted stamp with a green polish over Miss Ashleigh's Midnight Shadows but it didn't really work out so I went the other way. 

I painted 3 layers of green OPI tint and stamped using Mundodeunas black. The design came out quite nice!

MY Burgerlab Turns 3!

Hey guys! 

As per usual, if you guys are following me on instagram @chronosz then you would know what's in store! :)

It's MY Burgerlabs 3rd birthday!! 

For those not in Malaysia or KL even - Burgerlab is a burger joint famed for their charcoal buns and local flavours like the RAKSASA!! which literally means monster. It is their third birthday and every year, they have a surprise for all of us.

This year, it is a joint effort with The BIG Group to create the Mac & Cheese Burger! Have a look at the post on my food blog for the deets on the burger! 

As you guys know that I love painting event inspired manis...so here's the MY Burgerlab birthday edition!

I painted this with the logos for Burgerlab and The BIG group in mind plus the birthday poster. It's supposed to be a light bulb burger! Just in case you can't see the burger...

Hahaha! Oh! And here's a close up on the BiG Group logo. 

There's supposed to be a 'B' in the middle of the bulb but the yellow was too striking thus unable to make out clearly...but I'm quite proud of thr light bulb since I used reverse stamping to make it. Here's a look at how I did it. 

Finally what you guys have been waiting for! The polishes I used for the mani!

Top Coat - Glisten & Glow HK Girl

Black - Laval 

White - OPI Alpine Snow & Acrylic Paint 

Yellow - iScream nails Juicy Juicy & China Glaze

A Happy Belated Birthday!

Hi everyone!

I was planning to post this a little earlier but the photos took some time. 

I would like to wish my grandfather a belated 83rd birthday and may we all celebrate more birthdays to come!

My mani that night was inspired by an NCLA wrap classic. I wanted something simple, quick and elegant. So, I picked my current favourite colour which is Canmake Mint and started at it.

Here's the original NCLA wrap where the inspiration came from. I love NCLA wraps, especially the ones that were made from actual real life views. I have yet to try one but mark my words, I will one day.

Happy 4th of July...oops!

Hello everyone! 

Happy American Independence Day! =)

Happy 4th of July!!

Although it's already the 5th of July in Malaysia

=P

I managed to make due with the little amount of nail polish I have since my collection in still in Melbourne! 

Luckily for me that I happened to have the right-ish colours

Had to cut the tape strips myself thus the uneven stripes...

Might consider getting more tape...

Red, white and blue are the colours and so I delivered!

30 Day Ab Challenge

Hey nail art lovers! 

As I have said time and time again...

I LOVE DOING NAIL ART TO SUIT EVENTS!

So the event in question this time is....

COMPLETING 30 DAY AB CHALLENGE!!! 

I'm not the type of person who exercises...but I really want to lose weight...I think a lot of people think like I do =(

The FULL story:

A lot of people on Facebook was sharing the 30 Day Ab Challenge timetable at the time.

So I got really excited saying that "I wanna do thissssssss"

Then this guy commented that a lot of girls he knew was sharing the same challenge and posted on his wall a few minute later, "So many people are sharing the Ab Challenge but I know they are not going to do it". (I'm writing from memory and not referring back to the actual posts) So I got kinda pissed and decided to actually finished the damn thing! And guess what?

I FREAKING DID IT!!! 

So to commemorate this joyous event I painted this on my nails!

I know that it's not much but I wanted to try some typography...

I'm really bad at it...it looked pretty good when I was sketching it out on paper but when it comes to painting it with a brush...*sighhhhhh*

P/S: Sorry about the long pause in the posts...as usual...it was coming to the end of the semester at the time and assignments were piling up. I have to admit, first time that I was so stressed. XD Well, now is the beginning of winter holidays and I want to enjoy it! Hopefully I get more inspiration from nail art! I already have a design on my nails which will go up tomorrow! See ya then! 

Ironman 3

Hey all!! 

So I FINALLY watched Ironman 3!

Sometime last....Friday? 

Anyway...If you know me like I do, I paint my nails based on events.

So...here's an event and here're my nails! XD

Ironman is hard to paint...=.=...

Not complex but...it's IRONMAN!

I was too lazy to paint anything else but his face...

After painting the crosses, it kinda reminded me of X-Men...

Now what does this mean!!!

I'm just being weird...as usual.

I've got tons of assignments lately and blogging has been kinda urghhhh for me lately.

Even painting my nails is hard since nothing seems good enough and I end up wiping them off right after I paint them! >< 

I so need inspiration!!

Halloween 2012

Elo everyone! XD 

So I'm currently in Sydney for a week for a short holiday before flying back to Malaysia for the summer! XD And before the holiday I had to stop painting me nails cause I ran out of Mavala nail polish remover!! D8 I can see the shock in your eyes! I tried getting a temporary substitute a.k.a Cutex and it was the WORST decision of my LIFE!! I felt like I lost a day of my life each time I used it >< 

In the end, couldn't paint my nails for 3 weeks! D8 The shock!! and it's been doing bad things to my nails and cuticles!! BAD THINGS I TELL YOU!! Hell why am I telling you when I can show you?!

Horrible isn't it >< Nail broke and cuticles are dry like mad TT

Since I won't be able to paint the nail design I planned for Halloween in time for it so I thought I might as well post up some of the mini Halloween designs that I've already done XD If you want to get instant updates on nail designs and the deteriorating condition of my nails then follow my instagram at @chronosz but I have to warn you that there's more than nails in my instagram XD

Happy Belated Easter!!!

Hey everyone!! 

I've been really MIA for a long long time! ><
I've been really busy with assignments and work 
so I haven't had time to paint my nails let alone blog ><
So since I finally got a break and it was Easter...


HOW BOUT SOME EASTER INSPIRED CUPCAKE NAILS!!!

I kinda took all the 'what I think are' Easter colours and turned them into cupcakes XD


I'm really into Instagram and Iphone photo editting tools now so I made a something of a tutorial!! Hope you like it =)

I don't know how to number the photos but it's left to right and top to bottom!! XD 
I kinda forgot to take pics after the 3 step so that's why there are only 4! =P

Well, this is what's new and you can tell my nails are ridiculously short now...
Sighhhh hate it when my nails break ><

Tribal Archers

Hey Nail-Addicts! =P
So...I went to the archery range with my friend yesterday! XD

Naturally I did my nails according to the occasion! 

At first, I wanted to do a bow and arrow design but it was an epic failure ><"

so decided to something with the colours of the bullseye! XD

I'm quite happy with how it turned out in the end! 

I had an AWESOME time!! ^^

Although...I was so bad at it that the arrows were flying EVERYWHERE! =P

Singapore

Hey everyone!!! I'm finally back to posting after my Singapore shopping trip! 

I got some polishes from Singapore and shall be doing the swatches SOON!

Other than that...MY NAIL POLISH ORDER ARRIVED!! ^^

That means I have MORE colours to swatch for you guys 

and MORE designs to try out! 

There is also the fact that Chinese New Year is coming up!!

I've already got a few designs I'm planning on doing for the occasion!! XD

Anywayzzz...I didn't want to go to Singapore with bare nails so I painted something I THOUGHT would last me the week...

it didn't even last 2 days in the end cause of my itchy fingers...=(

Decided to do a blue gradient! =)

Gradients usually last a long while because 

of the glitter unless you do it without glitter XD

I've done a red gradient before...

There it is! XD 

Nails were shorter then! 

Turned out pretty nice especially since I had the shades to do it! XD

Happy Winter Solstice

Hi Everyone! I know I'm kinda slow with updates now but at least I'm still updating! =P

Anywayz...today is the WINTER SOLSTICE!!!

As a chinese we celebrate today with dinner with family and tong yuen!! =)

As you all know by now that I like painting my nails according to occasion so...

Ta-da!!! I got the inspiration by the bowls we used for the tong yuen! =)

Oh! You're all probably wondering what 'tong yuen' is rite!! XD

Literally translated it would be...sugar round?...my mum says sugar balls tho =P

This is tong yuen!! XD Uber yummy~~

And here's the mani that goes with it!

As usual my right hand has posing issues

I tried painting tong yuen but it didn't come out so well ><

I had fun with this mani so...NO REGRETS! XD

Hot Follow Up

I don't think I'll be able to finish the 12 Days X'Mas Manis challenge by Christmas Day because of outings but the rules were kinda lax anyway so...

I'M STILL GONNA COMPLETE THE CHALLENGE!!

Anywayz...remember in my X'Mas Mani 03 post I mentioned that I attended HOT Magazine's X'Mas Party?! 

Well there were free manicures at the party by the Strips team so I thought I'd share the pretty colour combos!! XD

FIRST UP!!

Base: OPI Russian Navy -discontinued-
Glitter: OPI Last Friday Night from the Katy Perry Collection


Russian Navy is a really beautiful shimmer dark blue polish and 
Last Friday Night blends with it really well! It looks like the starry sky!


NEXT!!

Base: OPI Russian Navy -discontinued-
Glitter: OPI Teenage Dream from the Katy Perry Collection


Unlike the previous combo, Teenage Dream pops up instead of blending in which is the whole point of the polish!! XD If they had sponged a layer of white and pink polish after Russian Navy it would have looked like the milky way~ but for now...let's say that the stars are shining extra bright in this mani telling us to follow our dreams! corny i know

Glitter: OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air

A very interesting combo but it works! I absolutely LOVE Fresh Frog of Bel Air! The green glitter and flakes are just mesmerizing!! A dark base would go perfectly with this polish! ^^


These were my friends nails btw...I didn't do mine cause I already had something on! =D


They let us choose the combos ourselves from the selection they had at the time!


I think my friends did a really GREAT job with the combos!! 


They're all SO PRETTY!!! XD

X'Mas Mani 03 - Hot X'Tree

I got invites to Hot Magazine's Christmas party held at Porto Romano!

As you can see from my previous posts that I like to paint my nails according to the event so....

Christmas Tree!!! 

with a side of ornaments and candy canes =D

I got the idea from the poster!

The tree was so cute I couldn't resist!! 

Well this also counts as one of the 12 Days of X'Mas Manis!

Kiwi Green

I had an interview today to be a brand ambassador and one of the brands was

SALLY HANSEN!

So I especially used Sally Hansen for this mani! 

Say Hello to Kiwi Nails!! XD

The only Sally Hansen polishes I had were green...

I used Sally Hansen's Green with Envy for the base. 

You can see the swatches here.

The white is OPI's Alpine Snow. The darker green colour beneath the black polish is Sally Hansen's Emerald City and I used OPI's I Only Date Werewolves.

I actually got the idea for this from a post in tumblr...

After google-ing the photo I found that the original post is from cutepolish.

check out her tutorial on how to paint it!

I did mine a bit differently but it managed to look kiwi enough 

for my friends and family! ^^
