New Year?

Hey all!

So I haven't posted up my new year nails...well here they are!

I asked my bf what should I paint for new years and he said fireworks...

Urghhhh why why why fireworks! I seriously cannot handle fireworks because actual fireworks are so pretty so how are you going to get that onto a nail? I'm sure other nail artists have done it but it just doesn't work for me.

So this is what I ended up with on new years...

Disappointing...I know but there will definitely be a time when I will be happy painting fireworks!

Miss Ashleigh Supernova Swatch

Yo everyone! 

So this is FINALLY happening!

A swatch on a super cool thermal polish by Miss Ashleigh!
And it's called...

SUPERNOVA!

The polish is deep purple polish with silver glitter and chucks of pink and silver hexagonal glitter pieces WHEN IT'S COLD!

The polish turns blue when the temperature increases. 

Be it from the surrounding temperature or your own body heat!

This is the polish when it is transitioning from one colour to the other.

I seriously love this polish! 

It's so pretty, it doesn't chip like other polishes, it's easy application with the exception of trying to get the glitter onto the nail! 

Besides, it's super fun to look down once in a while to see what colour they are!
Mine are usual blue since I have high body temperature! =P

X'Mas '12 - A Sweet Candy Cane Christmas

What pops into your head when someone says Christmas?

Presents?

Toys?

Santa?

How about candy canes!!

Christmas is just not complete unless you have had a candy cane! 

I remember this one Christmas when my aunt brought home a gigantic candy cane for me and it took me months to finish it! MONTHS!! It was THAT big >< 

Here's a candy cane mani that's a bit too big!

Not sure if you guys can tell from the pics but I used wayyyyyyy too many layers of polish for this mani although it looks like a pretty normal french mani...it has 15 layers of polish ><

Why 15?

It's because I was really excited on trying out the jelly mani thing since I got a set of OPI mini NYC Ballet Petites and it ended up like that...

In the end, I could actually peel them off my nail completely intact as it was!

=P

I forgot to take a pic of them tho ><

Oh well!

So as a reminder to you! Go get some candy canes and share them around!

Halloween 2012

Elo everyone! XD 

So I'm currently in Sydney for a week for a short holiday before flying back to Malaysia for the summer! XD And before the holiday I had to stop painting me nails cause I ran out of Mavala nail polish remover!! D8 I can see the shock in your eyes! I tried getting a temporary substitute a.k.a Cutex and it was the WORST decision of my LIFE!! I felt like I lost a day of my life each time I used it >< 

In the end, couldn't paint my nails for 3 weeks! D8 The shock!! and it's been doing bad things to my nails and cuticles!! BAD THINGS I TELL YOU!! Hell why am I telling you when I can show you?!

Horrible isn't it >< Nail broke and cuticles are dry like mad TT

Since I won't be able to paint the nail design I planned for Halloween in time for it so I thought I might as well post up some of the mini Halloween designs that I've already done XD If you want to get instant updates on nail designs and the deteriorating condition of my nails then follow my instagram at @chronosz but I have to warn you that there's more than nails in my instagram XD

SHINEE Dazzling Girl Inspired Mani

I am such a bad person ><

I haven't blogged since the beginning of August and it's already October...

I have been painting regularly but I haven't been posting it here ><

If you guys are curious of the mani's I've been doing since the last post...well you can follow my instagram @chronosz or you can wait till I actually get down to making a collage of them XD

So here's my Nail of the Day (NOTD) inspired by SHINEE's Dazzling Girl MV!

Sadly, I couldn't find proper pics of the inspirations lol so I'm just gonna tell you! XD

The pointer finger is inspired from Key's outfit! 

The middle finger is the feathery thing from Jonghyun's outfit.

The ring finger is from the background at the beginning of the MV!

The pinky finger is inspired from the puffy pink scarf I think that the girl wears.

Chrome Clouds

Yo nail art peeps!

 After my recent nail polish spree I am really into chrome polish XD

Then there's this new craze with cloud manis...

So I decided to try it out! 

Sorry about the red in the photos...it's probably from the sun...

It was really REALLY bright and sunny when I took them =P

Anywayzz...the original tutorial came from Nailside.

Taped Retro Twist

Hey guys!! XD

In my last post I told you guys that I was gonna post up my current mani rite!!

So here they are!!!! XD

Remember the Topshop polishes I got from my Singapore trip in January?

I used those 3 polishes for this mani!! ^^

I've seen this mani quite a few times online so I thought I would try it! 

Instead of using cellotape I used the blue stripping tape that I got a while back!

It works so much better than the cellotape XD 

After I added the rhinestones I thought, "Hmmm this so reminds me of a jesters hat! XD"

Bwahahahhaha 

Yeah! Yeah! That jester!! XD

The rhinestones became the bells for the hat =P

I'm quite happy with this mani! ^^

I learnt a new way to do tape manis and I got to use polishes I rarely use too!

Mini Spree

Hey Nail Art Lovers!!

I know I have yet to review and post up the polishes 
from my other nail polish sprees but I just can't help it!! >< 

So I found this small nail art booth in Pavilion the other day 
and I just couldn't stay away from the nail art goodness XD

Chain, rhinestones, blue nail art strip tape, 2 nail wheels

I finally found some nail wheels and I'm so excited!! I also got a chain to use during dinner occasions since there are rhinestones stuck to it...and of course I got some rhinestones too!! XD The main thing in this spree is the blue nail strip tape! I've been wanting to get a silver tape for quite a while now but when I bought this one the blue and silver tape were really similar and didn't know that I bought the wrong colour till I used it ><


I did a quick mani just to use it! 

Forgive the sloppiness since I did them when I was half asleep ><
I couldn't really get the tape to stick so the ends always stuck out =S
I did some "aztec" writing on the white parts with a silver dotting pen but you can't really c them in the photo cause of the sunlight =S


There'll be more opportunities to do aztec manis to don't fret!

GLEE Inspired

Hey GLEE lovers!!
So...I recently watched GLEE!! 

It was the BEST episode so far!!

It was all about not giving in to bullying and peer pressure and suicide is never the answer to ones problem! The song!! Super inspirational!! 

So this mani is inspired by their regional outfits! =)

GLEE to me is a very inspirational show that combines the happenings of high school, society and music! =) I have cried, laughed and shown so many different kinds of expressions while watching GLEE and I can say that I DO relate to the characters in GLEE! =)

I HAVE CHANGED!

in a very good way!

Sorry to bomb you guys with this emotional stuff but I just had to share it since it is sort of a turning point in my life and I'm glad that it finally came! =)

Purple Madness

HARLOOOOOO

So it's 2.40AM in KL so I'm kinda hyper a little...

Anywayzzz...I painted my friend Melanie's nails for her earlier and it was a super purple mani since she couldn't decide on a design and colour!! XD

This is the result of that! 

I'm actually quite satisfied with it! It was based from a design I did before! XD

It's supposed to be leopard and zebra print just in case you didn't know...=P

I was also trying out the silver art pen I bought from faceshop and I LOVE IT!!

I shall do a review on it in another post oh! and it gave me a reason to use my purple rhinestones too! The rhinestones on her fourth nail is kinda senget crooked since I was painting her nails from an awkward direction =P and I was using seche vite to stick them on so they stuck on really fast so I couldn't really adjust them...hmmph!

Ya know what...I was transferring the pics of the polish swatches and designs I did while my photoshop was on the fritz from my camera to my lappie and... THERE'S A LOT!! ><

Gonna be posting a lot so....YEAH!! ^^

Anime Hijacked Valentines Mani

BWAHAHAHA!!

Sorry! Was laughing at the title! XD

I'm actually blogging this for the second time cause for SOME reason...it didn't save the first time I blogged...=(

Anywayz...I was watching this anime called 'Clannad' and I saw...

THIS APRON!!

Everytime I saw this during the anime I had this urge to paint it on my nails! ><

So...I added a few heart and VOILA!

An Anime Hijacked Valentines Mani is born!! XD

ON TO THE MANI!

I quite like this design! =)
I used my new stripping brushes for this mani and stripping is soooo much easier now! Especially when I'm painting my right hand! 

Oh! Another thing! I'm into rhinestones, studs and all that jazz at the moment!
Gonna stock up so I can experiment on placing and stuff liddat!

Topshop Christmas Polishes

So this is one of the swatch posts that I've been meaning to post up! 
Topshop Christmas Polishes!!
I got these from my Singapore trip back in January...
It was a kind of 3 for 2 sale so I just got some since they were cheaper! XD

From left: Awol, Moonshine, Remember My Name


It came in a cute zipper bag too! XD 
Now on to the swatches!!! 


First up is AWOL!

Awol is a sky blue polish. 
It is opaque in 3 layers!


The next polish is MOONSHINE!

Moonshine is a gold silvery polish.
I don't know why it came out as a gold shimmer in the photo 
but I swear it's a gold silvery shimmer polish! XD
Good polish for dinner events but it streaks as you can tell so 
try and apply it in 1 or 2 strokes! =D


Last polish from the pack is REMEMBER MY NAME!

Remember My Name reminds me of a really retro pink polish! 
Makes me wanna do a polka dot mani with it! 
This polish is also opaque in 3 layers.

Denim of the Jean Nails

Hey there nail art lovers! XD

So this is one from my 'To-do List'

It was kinda hard to do!! ><"

I saw this REALLY REALLY awesome denim design 
that this korean nail blogger did but I forgot to save the link 
so I don't know where to find it anymore...=(

I remember that she used zipper stickers and she stuck them on really nicely! 

I tried to draw a zipper but it totally failed >< 

I still think that it needs more work =( 

I'm very content with them tho! 

I used China Glaze First Mate for this mani 
and it is so PERFECT for my skin tone! XD

I'll try to be more in a blogging mood for all the swatches that I've put off so far! ><

Happy Chinese New Year Everyone! ^^

I was pretty busy with CNY preparations yesterday 

so I could only do a simple design 

I also painted my aunt's nails for CNY...I'll show you that mani some other time!

For now...NOTD!!

I did a gold and silver gradient using Essie Silken Cord, Glitter Gal Bronze and Glitter Gal Silver!
The chinese character on my thumb nail is 福。

It means happiness or good fortune =)
